A Birdwatchers Paradise
Upper Swaledale is the perfect place for birdwatching
Hundreds of birds migrate to Upper Swaledale for the breeding season. The fields, pastures and moorland surrounding the farm are alive with ground nesting birds from early spring. Redshank, Lapwing, Snape, Oyster Catcher, Woodcock, Curlew, Skylark are all regular visitors and can easily observed from the garden and guest bedroom windows. A little further afield on the open moor the keen birdwatcher may catch a glimpse of the Black Grouse, Ring Ousal, Heron and Kestral.
